The Honor Dance continued until way past dark. That light you see in the upper left-hand corner is a street lamp, which is situated at the edge of the property. This picture was taken sometime between 8 and 9 p.m.

I'm back from the Oakerhater Vacation Bible School. Actually, got back late yesterday afternoon.

Anyway ...

Seemed appropriate to share this prize-winning painting of a Native American child in connection with the VBS. The painting, which reminds me a great deal of Norman Rockwell, was in the Young Art show at the Red Earth festival.

Speaking of the Vacation Bible School, the bad news is that I forgot my camera. The good news is that I have some stories to tell; I plan to post them at my original blog site, Love During Wartime.

Back to the Red Earth Festival, a celebration of the Indigenous Peoples of the Americas. The next series of pictures are from the Young Art Show. This beaded cane was a first place winner for its class (afraid I don't remember what age group).

I'll be part of the annual Oakerhater Mission Vacation Bible School; this is the seventh year for this VBS, and my fourth year of being involved with it. I'm quite likely to have images to share from this when I return.

I attended the 21st annual Red Earth festival this year for the first time. This is an event celebrating the cultures which were indigenous to the Americas prior to the arrival of Europeans (Spanish, British, et al).

This is the first in a series of pictures I will share with you from Saturday morning's Grand March.
